Donald Trump: The world should give him the chance to see what he can do

Donald Trump: The world should give him the chance to see what he can do

The definition of 'writing' by the 'Wikipedia' is- a medium of human communication that represents language and emotion through the inscription or recording of signs and symbols.

We (scientist Johan Van Dongen and Joel Savage) have written a number of articles about Donald Trump but it came as a shock to me when I got a notification that I have a new follower on the Medium social platform. Guess who? The controversial Donald Trump.

Like many politicians, Donald Trump has been reading our articles regularly on the Medium social platform, even though Johan and I are neutral and don't support any American politician. It's great to find out that Trump is among our numerous readers around the globe.

"If you wash your hands very well, you'll end up eating on the same dining table with the king," that's an African proverb. In other words, if you respect yourself you'll be respected. That's life.

Even though our articles are probing, sensitive and challenging, others interested in the truth understand why we publish articles and information that the mainstream media hides from the general public.

We can't stand the kind of journalism in a world that people like George Bush and Tony Blair commit a crime and go free while the International Criminal Court put African leaders behind bars for similar crimes.

In such a world of dishonesty and hypocrisy, we don't please people, yet we have respect for everyone including cleaners because without them I wonder how our environment may look like and the outbreak of epidemic that could follow.

It's great to be a writer and I have enjoyed my profession in many ways. A couple of years ago, I experienced fraud at the hands of a housing company which has rented their house to my family in Antwerp. I filed all the documents concerning the illegal money the company has been demanding from me.

Then I wrote a letter and sent the documents to the office of the mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever. His office took a swift action and investigated my report. Exactly a month after submitting my letter, I received a letter of apology from the housing company and all the illegal money they collected from me was paid back into my account.

In another development, I was delighted when I received a letter from the Belgium prime minister, Charles Michel, over my humble request for the demolition of the statue of Leopold II, in regard to the crime he committed against humanity in Africa.

I explained that King Leopold II doesn't deserve a statue for killing over ten million Africans, including women and children if there isn't any statue of Hitler for killing six million Jews. It's a honour to receive his response over this issue. This is one of the importance of being a writer.

Many Americans, including African-Americans, don't like Donald Trump but I have no reason to dislike him. Following me on 'Medium' social platform is an experience that I will never forget.

What everyone needs to remember is 'light and darkness' can't stay in the same room, the reason the truth and lies are always in conflict. If we want to see a better world or a changed world for the benefit of our children, then people should do away with hypocrisy, lies, greed, hate, and selfishness.
